I had not seen my older sister Sarah for many years and as I approached her apartment door I was excited about seeing her again and be able to talk and catch upon things. She did not have a computer and she was not like writing letters. Being able to see her in person was going to be wonderful. After knocking on her door, Sarah came and invited me in. She had a pathway for us to walk from one area of the apartment to another. The rest of her apartment was filled with things from years ago that she felt that she could not part with. I knew right away that my sister had a problem with living hoardings and that she needed professional help and I was going to do all I could to get her the help she needed.

Oh No, Help, Time to Redo the Water Closet!
February 23rd, 2013We’re not experts or even experienced in home renovations. And, when it comes to Bolton bathrooms, we’ve been totally lost. Yet, now, with our current washroom, we’re at the point of no return. The tiles are falling off the walls, the drywall is rotting all around, and we are actually seeing an occasional “slug” crawling on the wall!
Well, this is an older home, a serious fixer-upper, so we knew what we were in for. Plus, we don’t have much of a budget, either. We’ve got to rely on ourselves and our friends, really.
We’re currently in the info gathering, pricing stage, checking to see what’s online, and what we’ve got locally. But one thing for sure, we think things will go smoother, as we are making grids of information, what we’ll need, what we can afford, location, etc. So, hopefully we’re getting organized, realistic, and off to a good start!

Looking for Mr. Right
December 28th, 2012I am not a person that can easily be swayed by the latest fad, I have friends that have used a senior dating site and claim that they had a great amount of success in doing so. This I thought might be worth a try. I had nothing to really lose and a great amount to gain. I signed up with one of these sites and immediately saw a lot of men that were looking for more than what I was offering. I thought that this effort was a waste of time and was about to give up when I saw Kevin.
Kevin had a lot of the interests that I had and appeared to be in a situation just like me. I sent him a message and waited a couple of days. After not hearing anything for almost three days, I finally got a response. I thought for sure that he had given up or that the message was a rejection note telling me that I was wasting my time. I agreed to go out on a date, three years later we are celebrating out third year wedding anniversary.

December 27th, 2012I had been down about being single for so long. It seemed like all the guys I was meeting were only after one thing, and it wasn’t an intelligent conversation, if you catch my drift. After giving my situation some thought I signed up for a Bradford dating site. I knew I had to play it carefully because it’s just a virtual world so obviously there’s some not so good guys on those sites too. My thought was that if the guy is willing to have a relationship online for awhile before even meeting then maybe he is out for mind before body. I talked to a couple different guys on the site. I narrowed my search down to one guy and after talking for almost a year we met at a public diner. It was nice to finally be talking to someone that was truly interested in getting to know me.
